More About Lisa
my transformational Journey
I grew up as a mixed-race kid in a deeply segregated community. Although capable, I had little interest in school.
My awakening came when I took culturally focused classes. Seeing my lived experience reflected in the curriculum was life-changing. It opened my eyes to how injustice and systemic inequities affect communities worldwide. That experience shaped my belief in the power of education and innovation to build a just and equitable society.
After earning a degree in Ethnic Studies, I faced limited practical career opportunities as a single mother. Determined to support my family, I became a bilingual teacher.
Rewarding as it was, I felt a calling to make a more significant systemic impact.
I went back to school and earned a master’s in Organizational Development and Educational Leadership, ignited a passion for leadership development, organizational change, business development, and social impact initiatives. I set my sights on climbing the career ladder and even considered a run for state office. On paper, it was a clear and successful path. But inside, I wasn’t happy.
I certainly wasn’t thriving.
My world fell apart as I was about to reach several of my career goals. A major health crisis derailed my future plans. It was a time of deep reflection, grief, and uncertainty. Doctors advised acceptance. A knowing voice inside refused. This marked the beginning of the fight of my life.
I had pushed myself to breaking point, achieving one goal after another. But this time, relentless effort wasn’t enough. My health battle forced me to completely rethink my definition of success. What I thought was the end became the start of a profound transformation.
I became the driving force behind my own healing. When Western medicine offered no solutions, I found a new path forward. I would fully recover. Drawing on the same determination that fueled my career, I committed to a different journey grounded in balance, compassion, and wellness. I understood that bold ambitions were still attainable while giving myself permission to also live in joy and wellness. I redefined success, choosing not just to survive but to thrive.
This transformation wasn’t something I accomplished alone. Like all meaningful achievements, it was a team effort. I’m deeply grateful to my angel helpers, integrative practitioners, and chosen family who stood by me and supported my healing. Today, I’m fully recovered.
In my work, I draw on my academic knowledge, professional experience, and personal journey to create spaces where individuals and organizations THRIVE.
What you imagine is within reach, and I look forward to partnering with you to make it a reality.
